Brief
Biography
After
obtaining education and training in criminal justice, fire services and as an
emergency medical technician, Bob Heales started as an investigator in 1980
with Patrick L. Frey, Inc. in Minneapolis, a company now known as R.A. Heales
& Associates after he purchased it in 1986.
Heales is licensed as a private investigator in
He
has become well known in investigation circles locally, nationally and
internationally. He is Past
President of the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado and
has served on the Board of Directors of the National Council of Investigation
and Security Services since 1990. In
1991, Heales served as President of the World Association of Detectives.
This is the largest and most prestigious international association with
over 800 members in 75 countries. He
served as Executive Director of the association from 1997 to 2001.
He
is also an active member of the Minnesota Association of Private Investigators
and the California Association of Licensed Investigators.
He has been interviewed by local newspapers, radio, and television in
many cities as well as many national news programs and news organizations.
He has given presentations to various claims and trade associations on
claims investigation, surveillance and missing persons cases.
Heales
has coordinated and hosted numerous conferences and training seminars for
investigators. He has also attended
over 70 seminars on a wide range of investigative topics to continue his
professional education. He has
testified before the Colorado Legislature in an attempt to reinstate licensing
of private investigators in
In October,
1994, he received the Lifetime Membership Award from the Professional Private
Investigators Association of Colorado. In
April, 1995, he received the Wayne J. Wunder Memorial Award from the National
Council of Investigation and Security Services.
In October, 1998, he received the Norman J. Sloan Memorial Award from the
World Association of Detectives. In
September, 2000 he received the Investigator of the Year Award from W.A.D.
In March, 2004, he received the John J. Duffy Memorial Achievement Award
from N.C.I.S.S. In April 2007, he receivd a
Distinguished Achievement Award from N.C.I.S.S. These awards are
presented for dedication, leadership and distinguished service to the
investigative industry.
